Trustee emeritus Robert Erickson's 2007 scholarship challenge bike tour

Robert O. Erickson, former board member for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and current Chair of the sytem's Foundation Board, departed August 20 from Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids for the 2,300-mile bike tour to draw attention to the need to change Minnesota's financial aid program. Because he believes the state's financial aid program does not adequately support older, part-time students, Erickson pedaled his bicycle to each of the 53 campuses in the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities seeking financial pledges to build a scholarship program for needy students. The tour finished Thursday, September 20 at Normandale Community College in Bloomington.
